Cahaba Memorial Funeral Chapel announces with deepest sympathy the passing of
OTIS OWENS, son of the late Frank Owens, Sr. and Appie Jackson Owens, was born September 14, 1938 in Centreville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings, including a twin brother. Otis confessed his faith in Christ at an early age with the AME Zion Methodist Church. He attended Bibb County Training School in Centreville, Alabama/ In 1962, Otis moved to Stamford, Connecticut where he was employed and later retired from Marle and Elm Electric Company. He lived in Stamford for 58 years until his transition to his heavenly home on April 12, 2020. An avid sport fan, Otis loved the University of Connecticut (UConn) Women's Basketball team and referred to them as his "girls" and The University of Alabama football team, his "Bama Boys." Otis will be missed by his family: one sister, Annie Sue Marin of Brent, Alabama: a daughter, Tammy Briscoe of Bridgeport, Connecticut: a special nephew, Steven Owens, Sr. of New Milford, Connecticut: two sister- in- law, Mazell Owens, of Brent, Alabama an d Edna Owens of Madison, Alabama. Otis was loved by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends,
