At an early age Sis. Bowden, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  She continued faithfully in the Lord's service as president of the Missionary Society and as choir member.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Fond memories will be cherished by eight children James Elbert, Leroy (Denise), William Elbert Jr., Johnnie, Rosemary (Clemmie) Jackson, Olivia (B.C.), Roxie (George) and Lonnie Earl (Lena); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, twelve brothers and sisters and one daughter Katrina Bowden.
