CAHABA MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL: Announce with deepest sympathy the passing of Mrs. Earnestine. Her Life story Earnestine was born on January 15, 1955 to the late AB and Estella Presley both of whom preceded her in death. She departed this earthly life on July 18, 2024, at 3:59 P. M. in Shelby Baptist Memorial Hospital located in Alabaster, Alabama. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Cecilia Presley (at birth), Edward Presley (at birth), Virginia Presley, Elvis, Leroy Presley, Anthony Presley (Elnora) and Ira Jean Bennett. She was a cornerstone in her community. Most people close to her knew her as “Mick”, but whatever you knew her as you had to love her girlish ways. She was eager to help anyone and quick to insert her opinion in any situation, but one thing we all knew was she meant what she said and said what she meant. She devoted her life to Christ at an early age and she not only talked the talk, but she most certainly walked the husband and God’s children. walk. She was a true woman of God and she loved her Although many knew Earnestine as a jokester some thought she was serious because of her facial expressions but once she you got to know her she was surely to become one of your favorites. Earnestine proudly served on the Usher Board at Mt. Pilgrim when she was a member under Rev. Burns, then Pastor Eddie Sailes. She later moved her membership to New Direction Church under Pastor Roderick Sailes, which is currently named Refresh Brent, where she served as an Elder until God called her home to Glory. Earnestine is survived by a husband, Earnest James, Jr.; a daughter, Shelia (Christopher Michael) Duff; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Holman; three grandsons, C. J. Duff and Darius Duff both of Waukegan, Illinois and DeMontae Duff of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two great grandchildren; a brother, John Henry Presley; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews other relative and friends.
