CAHABA MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL: Announce with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Cedric Motique Stabler on Friday, February 27, 2026.
CEDRIC'S LIFE STORY: Cedric Stabler was born on September 6, 1976, in Brent, Alabama, to the late Theodore McCaskill and his loving mother, Barbara Stabler of Brent, Alabama. At an early age, Cedric confessed Christ at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Samuel L. Carter. His faith remained an important foundation throughout his life. He graduated from Bibb County High School, Class of 1995. In 1996, he was raised into Mt. Tabor Lodge #239 P. H. A. Cedric was a young man with an old soul. He possessed a warm smile and a gentle spirit that touched everyone he encountered. His kindness, loving nature, sense of humor, and contagious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. On February 27, 2026, Cedric departed this earthly life and transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home at Bibb County Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore McCaskill; his grandfathers, Preston D. McCaskill, Sr. and Jimmy Lee Stabler; and his grandmothers, Beidre Cheeseburger and Lois Wilson Stabler. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Linda Jean Holifield Stabler; his beloved mother, Barbara Stabler; his son, Derrick Stabler; his stepson, Calvin Sturdivant, Jr.; and his daughters, Emily Stabler and Monique Stabler; four uncles: Joe Stabler, all of Brent, Alabama; nine aunts: Margaret (Rufus) Wilkerson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Annie Stabler of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary (Leroy) Blair of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Dollie Fontain of Mobile, Alabama, Doris Johnson, Janice Hamilton; Clynice Thompson of Washington, D.C., Annette Welch and Maxine Welch of Lower Peachtree, Alabama. Cedric will be forever remembered and deeply missed by a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were blessed by his presence.
